While our Point Hope specialty hospital is under construction, VBJS is working with selected referring practices across Greater Charleston, the Grand Strand, and Coastal Empire through a collaborative mobile surgery model. This early phase allows us to begin supporting local veterinarians and their patients immediately — with select orthopedic procedures performed at your facility, giving patients access to specialist care in a familiar environment.

MOBILE PROCEDURES — AVAILABLE FROM SEPTEMBER 2026

The following procedures are available through the mobile program. More complex procedures requiring dedicated facility infrastructure will be available when the specialty clinic opens in July 2027.

FRACTURE REPAIR

  • Internal and external fixation of appendicular fractures. Acute and chronic cases welcome.

TPLO / CRUCIATE REPAIR

  • Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy for cranial cruciate ligament disease.

ORTHOPEDIC CONSULTATION

  • Comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluations, second opinions, and surgical planning.

  • Total joint replacement
  • Minimally invasive surgery

  • CT scan with 3D surgical models and planning

These require a dedicated facility and will be available when our 8,500 sq ft Point Hope specialty clinic opens. We welcome complex case consultations now to plan ahead together.

Call (843) 791-2663 or email us. Dr. Mason reviews every referral personally and responds within 24 hours to discuss suitability, imaging, and next steps.

WE COORDINATE WITH YOUR TEAM

We schedule directly with your practice — date, facility requirements, pre-surgical workup, and imaging review all handled collaboratively and at your convenience.

SURGERY AT YOUR FACILITY

Dr. Mason and his team arrive fully equipped. Your patient receives specialist surgical care in the familiar environment of your hospital, without the stress of transport.

FULL HANDOVER & FOLLOW-UP

Complete operative notes, post-op protocols, and direct surgeon availability throughout recovery. Seamless handover back to your team for ongoing care.
